What's Included in an Architectural House Design: Complete Package
Architectural design covers a wide spectrum - from a few sketches to a complete document set ready for the construction site. Let's define what a proper design actually contains.
Two levels of architectural design
Concept design: general layout, elevations, key dimensions. Architectural design: the full construction documentation set.
What an architectural design must include
Floor plans
Drawings of each floor with exact dimensions, wall placement, doors, windows, stairs. Changes at plan stage are cheap. Changes during construction are expensive.
Elevations
Exterior appearance from all four sides with materials, colours, window and door types. In a good design, elevations are a technical document with reference points and material specifications.
Sections
Vertical cuts showing floor heights, slab placement, attic space, foundation depth. Without sections, the crew works by guesswork.
Colour architectural solutions
A specific material specification: which paint, stone or render, where and how. The document you use when purchasing materials and supervising the contractor.
Photorealistic 3D visualisation
This is what your house will look like after construction. 3D is a decision-making tool - you see the result before spending money on building.
Site placement plan
Exact position on the plot, setbacks from boundaries, solar orientation. Without proper placement, the house may violate setbacks or face windows north.
Master plan
The complete picture: house, garage, septic and well, outdoor zones, pathways.
What's often forgotten and sold separately
- Site placement - not included, priced separately
- Master plan - that's your side
- 3D visualisation - available for an extra fee
- Material specifications - we'll agree on site
Verify what's included before signing. Ask directly: Show me a list of everything I'll receive at the end.
What's not included
Structural design (foundation, load-bearing elements) and engineering designs (electrical, heating, ventilation, plumbing) are developed separately.
Summary
A complete architectural design is a working document for building. If it lacks plans, elevations, sections, site placement and master plan - it's a sketch, not a design.
Before paying - ask for a list of what you'll receive. A good contractor will answer without hesitation. We will. Phone: +38 (050) 332-72-22
